Video is the name for the technology to record, edit, reproduce and distribute images and sound using magnetic tape, digital media and electronic signs primarily to show it on TV or on computer monitors.
The word video, usually refers to several storage formats for image and sound. Thus, digital video formats such as DVD, Quicktime, MPEG and analog video formats like VHS and Betamax. Video can be recorded and reproduced by different physical devices. Camcorders can record electrical signals in PAL and NTSC and digital cameras can record in MPEG and DV.
